Welcome Baby Rogue
November 30, 2015
If you follow us on Facebook, then you know about our new addition to Camp Tadmor. In case you haven't heard yet, Tadmor welcomed Rogue Summer Garner this month! Rogue is the daughter of James and Alyssa Garner; and the little sister of Willamette Danger Garner. We're excited to welcome another "camp kid" to the year-round staff here at Tadmor. Congratulations to James, Alyssa, and Will!
A Time of Transition
August 27, 2015
Adam Hearn and his family are moving off the mountain the end of this month. We are thankful for Adam's faithful service over the last five years. Adam, Angie, and their three daughters, Julia, Kate, and Emma, will be moving to Lebanon. There they will continue their involvement in their local church, Julia will begin school, and Adam will work toward obtaining his real estate license. It has been a pleasure to live and work alongside the Hearn family.
On September 1st, we will welcome James, Alyssa, and Will Garner to Camp Tadmor. James not only comes with multiple years of experience in serving at various camps across the states, but he's also most recently been a youth pastor at one of our CBNW churches. With a heart for both camp and church, we believe he will continue to move us forward in our desire to serve churches through this camping ministry.
Summer is Coming to a Close
August 17, 2015
Tadmor's 2015 summer programming is coming to a close with this week's junior camp. It is exciting to see campers' lives changed and hear young hearts that now belong to God declare their love for Him. We were blessed with the privilege of serving many local churches, which allowed church leaders to focus on their campers and lead them into a deeper understanding of God's love for them.
Our Summer Ministry Team members will soon be leaving camp to head back to school or work. It was a privilege to serve alongside these young adults and to see them grow as they were stretched physically and spiritually throughout the summer. It's exciting to anticipate the impact these same young people will have on their local churches as they return home better equipped to become involved in the ministry within their church family.
Next up...Men's Roundup, Pastors' Wives Retreat, Pastors' Prayer Summit, Growth Getaway and, of course, church retreats and outdoor schools.
Summer is only eight weeks away!
April 16, 2015
We are getting so excited for the arrival of our Summer Ministry Team, for the churches from all over the Northwest who will bring their kids for a week of summer camp, and for the impact the Gospel will make in campers' lives!
We are currently in the middle of our hiring process for our Summer Ministry Team. Many positions are already filled. However, we are still accepting applications. We encourage anyone who feels led to apply to do so. We also invite you to pray for the rest of the positions to be filled. As always, our goal with our Summer Ministry Team is to equip next-generation leaders and to send them back into their churches with a heart to serve and to be an engaging member of the body.
Another opportunity to serve here at Camp Tadmor is through our Renewal Ministries, which is overseen by our volunteer coordinator, Jason Bigelow. Every third Wednesday of the month is Renewal Wednesday and is for anyone who believes in the value of serving the covenant community of churches and is looking for a regular place to connect with others who want to serve. We would like to give a special shout out to some of the men from Lebanon First Baptist Church who came out this week and repaired one of our platform tents. We appreciate the work that you guys do.

Spring Break Work Weekend
March 25, 2015
Thank you to all the church groups who came up for Spring Break Work Weekend. We had a great time working with you guys while you were up here. There was a lot of work to be done, including: cleaning up brush, chopping wood, deep cleaning different areas of camp, irrigation for our new sprinkler system, and so much more. Because of your service, we were able to get camp ready for this summer, and Tadmor will be a more effective platform to serve churches all over the northwest.
Adam and Logan finished up at Seattle Pacific University
February 4, 2015
Adam and Logan finished up this year's recruiting tour at Seattle Pacific University last week. They went to six different schools around the Northwest: Corban, Multnomah, Northwest Christian, Warner Pacific, George Fox, and Seattle Pacific. It was a successful time being able to reconnect with past Tadmor staffers, as well as share our heart for serving the church to potential future summer staffers.
We are praying that God would bring the right people to us for this summer. Our desire is to see next generation leaders sent from their churches to become developed and equipped for local church ministry and mission.
We still have a variety of different positions open for this year's Summer Ministry Team including: counselor, rec game leader, program staff, lifeguards, Wave team, and more. So if you feel like God might be leading you to work at Tadmor, or if you want to serve God's church this summer, then you can apply here.
Winter Youth 2014
January 7, 2015
Winter Youth 2014 was a great success! With 26 different churches represented from 'round the Northwest and nearly 300 students in attendance, the event was a time for many to grow closer in their relationship with Jesus.
The sessions were taught by Jefferson Bethke, a speaker, writer, and author of "Jesus > Religion". His topic was the resurrection of Jesus Christ and how that effects everything. He focused on the father heart of God, the fact that our relationship with Him is a covenant, not a contract, and our performance does not dictate His view of us as His children. Intimate times of worship were led by Taylor Reavely and his band. They encouraged the students to celebrate what Christ has done for us.
The event was emceed by Beau Chevassus and Reid Stady, who created a fun and inviting environment for the students with their games and funny videos. The weekend was packed full of fun activities including: roller skating, gaga ball, bounce houses, the smash lab, a trip to G6 Airpark, and so much more. We would like to give a special thanks to Team Barnabas and everyone who helped with this event.
December 9, 2014
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Tadmor staff. We have been staying busy here at camp this winter season with events like Pastor's Prayer Summit, Growth Getaway, and rental groups, including church retreats and outdoor schools. Growth Getaway was a blast this year! Through various games and activities, as well as teaching sessions with Britten Enkelis, the middle school students had fun as they learned about the power of the resurrection. They looked at different conspiracy theories as to what happened to Jesus on the cross, and learned that Jesus Christ defeated death, rose from the grave on the third day, and the significance of that event for us today.
And let's not forget another huge part of Growth Getaway - BACON! Bacon was served at every meal. Whether it was on their maple donuts, in their self-made pancakes for breakfast, on their hamburgers, or even on their ultimate Tadmor s'mores, it is safe to say that these kids had their fair share of bacon.
As Christmas approaches, Winter Youth stands just around the corner. We are excited to be part of three days filled with tons of great teachings and times of authentic worship for high school students at the Red Lion Inn at Jantzen Beach. This year's theme is RECREATE and we will look at 1 Corinthians where Paul talks about Jesus' resurrection from the dead and the transformative power of the Gospel.
We know that summer may not be on your mind this time of year, but it is on ours! We are already planning for next summer's program theme and are currently in the process of creating and designing the camper shirts, logos, and brochures for next summer. Be on the lookout for our upcoming post that registration is officially open for 2015 summer camp.
December 2, 2014
The Tadmor staff is happy to announce another addition here at camp. . . Emma Jane Hearn arrived November 17th - just in time to celebrate the holidays with her parents, Adam and Angie Hearn, and her sisters, Julia and Kate. Welcome to Camp Tadmor, sweet Emma!
Summer is Over
September 10, 2014
Summer of 2014 is officially over; and what a great summer it was here at Camp Tadmor! With our superhero theme of The League, we focused on the spirit of adoption and what it means to be a part of our Heavenly Father's family; that our identity is not based on what we do, but on who God says we are. We were able to serve many local churches in addition to witness many kids give their lives to Christ. It is a blessing to partner with God in His ministry here at Tadmor.
Our Summer Ministry Team also learned about identity this summer - what it means to work from our acceptance in Christ, not for acceptance. We also added a new team to our Summer Ministry Team this year. The WAVE Team (Weekends and Various Events Team) was responsible for all of our weekend groups including: Woman's Camp, With Weekend, and all three Sons of Thunders. They also ran programs out of our newly built Pavilion at Meadow Ridge, which included Base Camp - our high school leadership development camp and Circle T Ranch - our 4-day western-themed junior camp.
We praise God for the work that was done here this summer at Camp Tadmor. Even though summer is over, our mission to serve the local church does not stop. We are now transitioning into hosting rental groups, outdoor schools, sports teams, and family reunions, as well as prepare for next summer. And don't forget to check back in to stay informed on what is happening here at Camp Tadmor.
August 7, 2014
God has been good this summer! In the last two weeks, we've had the pleasure of serving ten different church groups who brought students to camp. That's 500 campers in two weeks! We've had two High school camps over the past weeks, and our second Circle T Ranch is finishing up on Friday. The third Sons of Thunder will be this weekend followed by our fourth Middle School camp. After that, we'll have our last Junior and Circle T camps. What a joy it is to serve Christ's bride, the church. It is such a blessing to know that over the course of the summer, thousands of kids will hear the gospel of Jesus Christ through the avenue of fun and adventure!
The WAVE team
February 6, 2014
This summer, we are introducing a new opportunity for you to serve here at Camp Tadmor. The WAVE (Weekend and Various Events) Team will be a part of Camp Tadmor unlike any other team. Our summer schedule has expanded, due in large part to the Meadow Ridge development. We have added a third Sons of Thunder weekend, a With Weekend and a Base Camp. These events, along with our three Circle T Camps, will be among those served by the WAVE Team. To apply, go to the employment section of the website. You must be 18 years of age or older. Get your applications in as soon as possible because spots on the WAVE Team are limited.
Guess what time it is....
February 6, 2014
...it's time to turn in your application to work on summer staff this summer. The Summer Ministry Team will give you the opportunity to serve others for an entire summer. We are looking for dynamic individuals who can join a group of people in one mission; and who are willing to grow and develop in character. Do you find yourself nodding your head as you read this? If your answer is yes, Tadmor may be the place for you this summer. We are excited for this summer and what God will bring. October 30, 2013
As the fog rolled into camp, so did middle school youth groups from all around to join the party that was Growth Getaway. We had a blast hanging out with kids worshipping god and growing together. Middle school students had a chance to hear from Britten Enkelis who did a great job connecting the students with the story of Moses in the book of Exodus. Worship was also a big part of the weekend led by Elliot Otteson. Kids had a blast running around in the fog, jumping into the lake for a polar bear swim and playing bounce house. Everyone ate well during the event filling themselves with bacon from the Kevin Bacon Bar. The weekend went well and The staff here at Tadmor were very excited to see the growth of students while having fun.
Pastors' Prayer Summit
October 30, 2013
The weekend was packed with events. Pastors from all around came to spend a few days in prayer. With a schedule that was filled with prayer and community. Pastors prayed all day allowed as well as in silence praying over their churches and other pastors churches. It was great to see so many pastors coming together to open their hearts and wait for the presence of God to move. It was very powerful to be a part of the summit. We would like to thank all of the pastors that were able to make it. We encourage any pastor to make it part of their yearly tradition. We hope to see you all next year.
October 16, 2013
As we are in the thick of the Fall season, what would be more fun than to spend the weekend with your middle school youth group at Camp Tadmor. Growth Getaway is returning for middle school youth groups this year. This event is happening, October 25-27. It is $64 dollars per person and $74 after the 17th of October. With speaker Britten Enkelis, Growth Getaway is aimed at surfacing and training middle school students to be next generation church leaders. This year's training is going to be rooted in the story of the Exodus for the purpose of showing how the whole story points to Jesus. We are extremely excited to see this event happen once again. Be ready to have a blast with night games, sessions, and activities and don't forget the BACON. Explore Tadmor's website for more information.
Make a WAVE
October 16, 2013
This summer, a new team will be stepping into the world of the Summer Ministry Team of Camp Tadmor. There will no longer be only four different teams in the Summer Ministry Team. The fifth team in the mix this year, is the WAVE team. Due to our new growth at Meadow Ridge, different camps and events will be growing as well. With this, we will be adding a third Circle T camp, Base Camp and With Week into the mix. The WAVE team will be the team to take these events on as their summer ministry. We are extremely excited to add this team because of the different things this team will get to experience. The team will work from Tuesday to Sunday making them the weekend experts for events such as Sons of Thunder and Women's Camp along with the ability to experience various events such as, traveling to help other camps such as Camp Elkanah. This is a great way to spend your summer investing with a different spin. Keep checking in for more details on the WAVE team. If you have any questions, contact Colin here at camp. Hope to hear from you soon.
Coming to an End
August 22, 2013
This is the last week of summer camp for the year 2013. We have had eight weeks of camps and are currently on our ninth. It has been exciting to stop and reflect on what God has done throughout this summer in the lives of each of the campers and staffers. This past weekend (August 16-18th) was the staff's end of summer retreat. It was a great time for the staff members to take time to reconnect with each other after a busy summer and think about what has happened during these past 3 months while working at Tadmor. It has been a fantastic summer spent in community, building relationships, and growing in Christ.
Construction at Meadow Ridge
August 22, 2013
There is construction happening at Tadmor! After years of strategizing, many meetings, permits acquired and funding almost complete there is finally construction work happening up at Meadow Ridge. In its former state Meadow Ridge contained six yurts, porta-potties and a trailer shower. The construction that is taking place is working towards building a pavilion with a kitchen unit, eating area, bathrooms and showers. The goal is to have the pavilion done and ready for use by next summer. Everyone is excited knowing that Tadmor is growing and expanding in its ability to serve churches. Having the pavilion at Meadow Ridge will allow groups to have a more comfortable stay while utilizing the yurts and camp sites. It will be the final stamp on a dream for a facility that can accommodate family camps, summer programs, and churches in a traditional camping environment while providing the amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
Tadmor Family Grew
July 31, 2013
The Tadmor family has grown! On July 18th 2013, Ruby Marilyn Bigelow was born to Anna and Jason Bigelow.
High School 2
July 31, 2013
This Sunday, July 28th, was the first day of High school 2. All campers, whether new or returning for the 7th time, are excited for this week of camp. Many campers mentioned their excitement for the free time activities such as the giant swing, paint ball and the lake. This is the first week that the high ropes course has been open to campers. Us as a staff are looking forward and prepared to bring as much hype as possible for the week. This summer is the first summer that Tadmor is having 3 high school camps instead of only 1.
July 31, 2013
This past week, July 21st-27th, some of our staff took a break from the hippie theme and joined the western theme for Circle T. Once campers arrived at Tadmor we entered the campers to their western adventure with a hay ride. Although each Circle T camp only lasts for 3 days, it was packed full. The campers were able to experience the lake, the giant swing, a huge water fight, fire building, archery, lassoing, gold panning, bandana decorating and hear about the love of God. The speaker for both Circle T camps, Adam Hearn, spoke about God's greatness and His love for each person. During the closing show, when campers were asked what they had learned, the majority announced that they learned that the "potions" of this world will not satisfy like God's love will. We enjoyed having Circle T camp and are looking forward to program Circle T next year.
High School 1
July 9, 2013
It has been encouraging to see campers come to Christ or rededicate their lives to Christ during these past two weeks. As a staff, we are excited to witness what God will be doing at camp and in the camper's lives during this week of high school 1. There are many added events to high school week, such as first light, starlight praise, communion, medieval dance party and open camp. As fun as these events are, we care more about the relationships that are being built with campers, staff, but most importantly with Christ. For this reason most of these events and the message from the speaker, Taylor Reavely, is to help strength each of the camper's relationship with God.
Middle School 1
July 2, 2013
The clouds have left and the sun has taken its place. Throughout the week of Middle School 1 camp it is suppose to maintain a high of around 90 degrees. Everyone here at camp, staff and campers, agree that it is starting to feel a lot like summer. Campers have been enjoying the much missed sun as they are swimming in the lake, on the blob and on the Aqua Summit. Although the sun is welcomed, Tadmor staff is keeping a close eye on campers, making sure that everyone is staying hydrated and is getting enough sunscreen lotion.
Junior Camp Enchilada
June 30, 2013
All week the campers have been hearing about the Big Enchilada and Thursday it finally came!!! Teams dressed up and brought the hype as they competed in the main relay race of the week. The race was spread throughout the forum field and mud-pit. Campers from each of the cabins had a great time participating and cheering on their teammates. Teams worked together to accomplish each of the 12 stations, which ended in pies in the counselors' faces. The winning team of the Big Enchilada was the Smashing Squashes.
Summer camp has officially started!
June 24, 2013
On Sunday, June 23, over 200 junior campers piled out of cars and buses, ready to encounter a week of camp. Sunday night the speaker, Adam Hearn, focused on God being love. The campers were encouraged to replace the word 'love' with 'God', emphasizing the fact that God is love. It was evident that the campers were already taking to heart the challenge that Adam gave to each of them. Monday morning, the cabin clean-up inspectors noticed that a handful of the cabin decorations had to do with either God being love or what each of the campers loved. We are excited to see what camp has in store.
Summer is Coming!!
May 28, 2013
It is beginning to look a lot like summer! The staff here at Tadmor are working hard to get things prepared for the summer festivities. Although it snowed recently, we are looking forward to hopping onto the Slip-n-slide and running into the lake in just a few weeks. The Summer Ministry Team leaders will arrive on June 9th to prepare both spiritually and mentally for the summer ahead. On June 14th, the rest of the team will arrive for a week of training. The real fun begins on June 23rd, when campers arrive; and we are ecstatic about it! Get ready to have a blast during the "Summer of The Song" here at Camp Tadmor! It's going to be a great summer! We hope to see you there.
Prayer Request: We are still looking for a High Ropes Level 2 ropes manager.
Forum is Finished
The forum project is complete! The construction crew worked hard to replace the rotting wood and siding and, after adding a little paint, the forum is sturdy and looking great. The forum is now ready for use this summer and for many summers after that. We are excited to have this project completed in time for spring break work week. Come to camp and enjoy the forum this summer, we're looking forward to seeing you there!
Adam and Colin's Adventures
Adam and Colin have been on the road! They were eager to go out and see familiar faces and meet new ones. Last week the guys spent an awesome time with Andy Purscelley from New Hope Church, Chris Charon and Blaine Braden from Eastmont Church, and Darin Niemeyer from Trinity Lutheran; all in Bend, Oregon. It was encouraging for the Tadmor staff to see the great things these churches have been doing with their ministry and we are excited to see all of them this summer.
Colin and Adam also spoke at Albany Christian School's chapel for kindergarten through eighth grade on March 5, 2013. The guys had an amazing time connecting with students and teaching them about gentleness, which is one of the fruits of the Spirit. You may see Adam and Colin stop by your youth group or church sometime soon.
New Tadmor Internship
Tadmor has added a full time internship to the camp staff. We are excited to announce this new position, which is designed to teach the intern how to serve by working closely with the rest of the staff in order to obtain valuable skills for service in ministry. Colin McHill began January 1st as the first person to fill this internship position. Colin has volunteered and worked as guest staff at various times over the last few years. He served as an intern at Lebanon First Baptist Church before his arrival in January. We are excited to work with Colin in the internship program and to see what he will add to our dynamic staff as we serve God together.
A Familiar Face
A familiar face has returned to the full time staff here at Camp Tadmor. Erik Tuneberg has taken the role of Guest Services Manager. Erik began working on December 1, 2012 and is already off and running. Erik may look familiar to some of you because he worked on our Summer Ministry Team for seven years and was the Guest Services Manager from 2004-2006. Erik knows his way around camp and does a fantastic job. Bring your group to camp and you will get to meet and work with Erik throughout your time here.
The Babies are Back!
Our camp family keeps getting bigger and bigger. We are excited that more new faces have arrived, and will be arriving, around camp this year; and we aren't just talking about Erik and Colin! We have new babies at camp! Adam and his wife, Angie, have welcomed their second child into the world. Kate Annabelle Hearn was born January 3, 2013. The Hearn's first daughter, Julia, is now big sister and turns two in February. Kate is not the only newborn addition to our family. Jason and Anna Bigelow are expecting a baby in July, 2013.
Congratulations to Adam, Angie, Jason and Anna! It will be awesome to have a few new smiles to add to our Tadmor family.
The Forum is under construction! The construction crew is hard at work on the west side of the Forum. Due to rot and wear and tear on the building, siding and beams are being replaced. It is exciting to see the construction crew at work as they exchange rotting wood with brand new material. This renovation will give the Forum a longer life and allow it to be used for great things. You can follow the progression of this project on our Facebook page. We have been updating pictures of the construction daily. Be sure to check out the improvements to the Forum the next time you come to camp.
